Why Movies?

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Kevin T. Rodriguez. I've built many websites over the years, but my most popular site I created was The Comic Book Guy.com, a website where a crazy adult wrote reviews for comics, graphic novels, and manga. It's something no sane person should have to deal with, and most of the people who visit that site can testify that I am nuts. But that site was sucessful enough that I am now breaching out into new pastures, and have now created yet another movie review site, in a world that is full of internet review sites. This site, The Movie Wizard.com, is that site, and you are currently on it. Now for those of you who aren't familier with my other sites, this is just going to be another movie review site to you. I hope you enjoy yourself, and hopefully my reviews will help you before you pluck down $9.75 to see a movie, but otherwise this is the part of the introduction where you can leave, as the rest will have little meaning to you. For those of you who HAVE come here from The Comic Book Guy.com I'll be pointing out the differences between the two sites, and what the future for the sites hold!

First of all I want to assure you that, no, The Comic Book Guy.com will NOT be shut down! It will remain up and running, and I will still be updating the site with reviews whenever I have time! That said, if you've been visiting my MySpace account you'll realize that I have a love for movies. A HUGE love for movies! You may have noticed that already if you happened to catch my site during Oscar season, where I spouted off my predictions and rants of the Oscars to a bunch of comic book lovers who (most likely) didn't care. No more I say. From now on, I'll have another site where I can spout off my opinions about movies. So in terms of personality, content, and update time, this site will feel very similar to The Comic Book Guy.com. In fact, the basic website design is even the same. One thing that will be different is the grading system. While the letter grading system works fine for comics and written works of art, I am reverting to the classic "Star Grading System" for my movie reviews. I feel stars work better for movies, and people who read movie reviews tend to know what a star rating means over a letter grade, which I think my comic visitors accepting because comic fans tend to have too much time on their hands (including yours truly).

The highest rating will be five stars while the lowest will be No Stars. I'm also doing away with the Grading System Jump feature on this site because, honestly, stupid thing was a fun idea at the time, but now I find it to be a pain to update. Other then that though, everything should feel at home here. This site was created to let people know about whether or not a movie is good, and spread the word about wonderful stories that people are most likely passing up in favor of cheaper entertainment. This site is here because I have too much free time on my hands, and I write a lot. So clearly, what I write has to be shared with the world, whether they care or not. If you need a catchy slogan for the site, mine is "I pay $9.75 to see a movie so you won't have to." Welcome to "The Movie Wizard.com," I hope you enjoy your stay.
